BIOGRAPHY

Lara Jokhadar Al-Aro is a Lebanese-Canadian soprano who has studied music and singing in Lebanon and Europe.

Today she has ungoing performances there as well as in the Arab World.

After finishing her studies in Chemistry, she has started taking voice lessons at the National Higher Conservatory of Music, obtaining her diploma in February 2015.

 

She has participated in numerous master classes in Europe and Lebanon.

 

She has met Madame Montserrat Caballé in Spain, and worked with her on her vocal technique during her annual master class in Zaragozza.

 

She has worked with Maestri Simone Alaimo and Vittora Mazzoni in Italy, as well as Maestra Mihaela Migheras, Fabio Centanni, and Salvatore Scinaldi.

 

She has worked on many occasions with Maestra Elizabeth Norbert-Shultz, world-renowned soprano.

 

She has taken part in many operas, and sung main roles in Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro”, "Cosi fan tutte" and Mascagni’s “Cavalleria Rusticana”.

More recently, she starred in the role of Abla in the first Arabic Opera « Antar & Abla » , alongside the very renowned Ghassan Saliba, which premiered in a big production at the Casino du Liban in July 2016. And she performed in Bahrain where the same opera has been presented at the National Theater.

 

She has participated in three music festivals in August 2016 in Alsace, France where she was heavily applauded and encored.

She performs regularly in Lebanon and the UAE.

 

Her repertoire is very varied; not only does she sing Mozart, Puccini, Gluck and Vivaldi, but she is also an accomplished performer in various musical genres (jazz, pop, slow rock, Broadway, Arabic classics…).

She is a voice teacher at the Music Group Academy – Beyrouth
